Our every-day adventures

We've been having a lot of "every-day adventures" the past few weeks. Just hopping into the car with a few moments notice, and driving a bit to do something fun. Generally involving water. We went to the Provo River, just a little way up the canyon, to find a spot to fish/swim/tire Bracken out. She really doesn't get enough exercise...sigh. Anyway! Our first spot was soon overrun with people tubing down the river. They had to get out, and get back in right where we were to avoid a bridge! We're going to have to try that tubing before we leave, it looks so fun! Anyway, we moved a little way upriver and found a new spot. With grass! Much better. And a perfect spot of shade for me :) Poor Stephen was again unsuccessful with fishing. He really needs a fishing buddy to show him the ropes! Any volunteers? He doesn't mind much, he loves the whole "experience" of fishing. The boys and I found a wild currant bush! We were going to take some home, but my Mom informed me that they really weren't that great unless you used them immediately. So we did, right off the bush :) The boys loved it, especially Stephen. Apparently eating things off bushes is very exciting!
 Our first spot. So lovely!

Our second spot. Complete with a person-sized patch of shade, just for me!
Wild currants!! I texted Mom to check, and she said, "Eat them NOW!" :)

Bracken being gorgeous. She's lost a few pounds!

Yum!
Can you believe this idyllic spot is right next to a highway??
Eating off a bush

I loved this little rock. It looks like a miniature island!
I think this will be the fishing team.

Ooo! Neat pokey thing!! Joe loves collecting interesting nature things, just like me!
We wore our girl OUT! She was basically fetching a log, had to swim against the current to get back, and it was too deep to stand until right about there...
Hooray! The train!
