My First Football Game!!

I've never been a football fan. Ever. I can watch it on TV for a little while, but I usually get bored. So when Stephen brought home two tickets to a Broncos game, my first thought was, "Fun! A free date! Can't be that boring..."
Thank heavens the tickets came with a parking pass. We got to park SO close!!
I started to realize how cool these tickets were when we got to the "club level". Inside fireplaces, giant TV's, fancy bars... (not that I'd be using them, but still!)
Mmm, nachos. A sports MUST. I used to get nachos all the time when I went to Air Force hockey games with my Dad. Lots of jalapenos are essential!
Had to get in uniform, so I got my face painted!! Stephen was a good sport and got his face painted with me, just stripes on one cheek. The face-painting lady didn't know what to do with herself, she kept trying to convince him to do something fancier. Nope! Oh, and a bottomless Diet Coke. Heaven!! I love Diet Coke :)

That's a LOT of blue and orange! We heard that Broncos fans are nuts... well, if nuts means seriously enthusiastic and TONS of fun, then yep, they're nuts!
Uh oh, the evening clouds are rolling in... Will the rain hold off??

This was SO much more fun than I expected! Somehow it doesn't feel like you're waiting around all the time, when there are no commercials in between. We were jumping up and cheering and booing along with the rest of the die-hard fans. It was a BLAST!!
Even when the rain finally DID roll in! The people behind us bailed, so we stole their row, and were mostly dry... Until the wind would gust a sheet of rain our way! But hey, there were only 8 minutes left on the clock (about half an hour of game time...) so we stayed! And glad we did too, the Broncos just BARELY won!

One of my favorite dates ever. By the end of the game we were fantasizing about season tickets... suffice it to say, I'm hooked! Go Broncos!!

Summer Adventures: Lakeside Amusement Park

Our last summer adventure before school starts! I got a Groupon for half-off admission to Lakeside amusement park, an oooold place here in Denver. It's not as new, fancy, (or clean) as the big heavy duty ones, but then again, it also isn't nearly as expensive! Stephen has been obsessed with riding a roller coaster, so it was finally time to try one out!
We started small, of course, testing their limits...

The classics, planes and cars that go around in circles... and around, and around...

They LOVED the hopper. I think they went on this one more than any other. Noticing a Joe trend?
 HANDS IN THE AIR!!!
This skateboard ride was just about Stephen's limit...

The bugs were more his speed. It is official, he cannot handle roller-coasters. Joe, on the other hand, is an adrenaline junkie. Anyone surprised?
I have to admit, I seem to have lost my teenage guts. The Flying Dutchman made me edgy...
And this one, Joe's favorite, (which he went on twice) was more than I could handle. And still have fun, anyway.
The 100 year old carousel was MY favorite!

There was a mini silver train that went around the lake (hence the name, Lakeside)
Perfect end to the evening, and the summer!
