An Award?!

We started this blog as a quiet little way to document our life a bit, share pictures with family, and look back and laugh. I never dreamed it would actually have followers!! One of the two :) Peanutlayne, has even passed an award on to us!! Thank You!! :) Now, usually this Liebster Award thing is given to a person, but since this blog is about our whole family, I think I'll answer as a group. Also, everyone I would want to pass this award on to has already gotten one at some point, so I think I'll just answer questions for fun, thank PeanutLayne sincerely for the opportunity to share more about us, and leave it there. Is that okay??

Random Facts About Us:

All four of us, plus the Beast (who weighs about 85 pounds), used to live in a 500 square foot apartment. For a few years, actually. When our new apartment office called and asked us if we still wanted to live here, because we were getting a different color granite countertop than promised, I just laughed. A bit hysterically. 

Stephen started school to be a chef, changed to an architect, teacher, and finally geologist. We knew this last direction was The One when he started getting all giddy and describing geologic traits in the block of cheese he was slicing...

Joe has pretended to be a cat at least once a day for the past three years. 

Stephen Jr devours chapter books at 6 and his favorite author is Roald Dahl. Of course!!

The boys are the best travelers ever. They can go 4-5 hours with no toys, just a map, some music, and looking out the window!

Stephen and I have been best friends since I was a chubby, dorky 15 year old with braces, and he was one of the Phillips Boys, the best looking guys in church for miles, and miles around. None of the girls could understand why I got to follow them around all the time... neither could I!!

Joe was born 4 weeks early. The dang kid just couldn't be contained any longer!! He turned out just fine, and even tried to escape his incubator box...

Bracken's new favorite game is Hide and Seek, and she's very good at it!

Our family's favorite food is Pho, Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup. Cool, huh??

We all (yes, even Stephen) love all of the Hayao Miyazaki movies. (Totoro, Nausicca, Kiki, Ponyo, Cat Returns...) but our favorite is Howl's Moving Castle.

We adopted Bracken because I can't have any more kids. She's our furry baby girl. But sometime very very soon, we plan on finalizing our adoption paperwork, and looking for a real little girl to complete our family. These boys need a sister!

And now, PeanutLayne's Questions!!

1. Do you have any phobias? Yep. Sharks. Those things are MEAN. And the scientists can try to convince me they aren't as much as they want, I'm not buying it. Stephen is terrified of bees, wasps, hornets, and all stinging things. The boys... don't know yet. Bracken is terrified of strollers.

2. What's your favorite season? FALL!!

3. What is the inspiration behind your blog title? Whenever we go out and do something, anything, vaguely fun, we call it an "adventure". And we have them often. So they may not be big and fancy, but to us, they are our everyday adventures.

4. Where is your favorite place to shop? LOL!!! Big, Fancy Grocery stores. We're food nuts.

5. What's your favorite food? PHO. (as a family)

6. Do you have a favorite room or spot in your house? Mine is my chair. Bracken's is on a pile of my clothes. The boys's is now their huge closet. Stephen's is the patio.

7. Do you have a favorite quote? "lol, smiley face." -Megamind

8. What made you decide to start blogging? We wanted a place to share pictures with family all over the place, and, to be honest, have somewhere for future birth parents to meet our family. 

9. Do you have a Facebook page for your blog? Nope!! I'm not that technologically advanced.

10. Do you have any bad habits? Mine is lazyness. Stephen's is talking all scientist to me. Stephen Jr talks back like he's 17. Joe gets maaaaad.

11. What is your dream job or career? Well, other than what I'm doing right now... writing a cookbook or being a floral designer in a flower shop. I don't want to run the shop, just make pretty things. Stephen is starting his. Joe wants to be a geologist cowboy, and Stephen Jr wants to be an astronaut.
