Summer Adventures: A Real, Live Candy Factory!

If you're lucky enough to live in the Denver area, you can tour a real, no-kidding hand-made candy factory! Hammonds Candy factory gives free tours, complete with samples! It may have been small, and not quite Wonka's, but it was an awfully fun way to spend our afternoon.
My favorite part was the smell... it smelled exactly like our house smelled when I was a kid and we made home-made buttercream mints for Christmas. Minty and creamy. Yum! And these floor tiles are adorable. I want some.
Tours run every half hour, so we had some time to wander the store next door... I've never seen so many different lollipop and candy-cane flavors! I hear Santa orders a batch every year, and picks it up in person!!
Of course, on an adventure like this, we have to bring friends.
 Whaddaya think? Hammonds model?

I somehow deleted my two pictures of the ridiculously speedy candy-cane maker... sorry!! But it really was cool :)
Okay, when they said free sample, I did NOT expect a whole candy cane!
These bad boys cost 40$!! I asked the lady if we could take pictures, she looked at me skeptically and said "Sure, but if you break them, you buy them!" She underestimates us :)
According to Stephen, "The best day of my life so far."
