Last Camping Trip of the Year

Remember the campground we found on Labor Day? I told you we had to come back and camp! We thought the aspens would be in full golden glory... Well, not yet. They were barely, barely starting to turn. Oh well! It was gorgeous anyway.
We knew that camping this late in the season, it was going to be 30 or below at night... so we bought a propane tent heater! And let me tell you, this is the way to go! Camping is so much more fun if you aren't freezing.
See? Gorgeous!! With hints of yellow... Sigh.
A peek at our site

Across the street, there was a playground! Campgrounds don't get much more awesome than that folks. Unless you start getting ridiculous, with showers and wifi and stuff.

Finally old enough to learn how to build a fire
Sorry, the aspens were just too pretty. Aspen pictures!! (Dad, this is the one we have to bring you to!)

Mmmm, gotta have s'mores. Even with dirty fingers, apparently...
Stephen is so mean. Bracken did NOT like the fire, but he kept making her sit next to him. So she's trying to get as far away from it as possible...

Burning up sticks in the fire, making up ghost stories... Boy stuff.

I had tons of fun taking pictures of the fire with my phone. Not bad, huh?? Picture overload!!

A few games of Uno in the tent before bed... Joe learning how to be a good loser...
Waking up with hot chocolate. I love camping. It's a good thing we went when we did, they closed up the campground behind us!
