Our poor Beastie has been sadly neglected, exercise-wise since our move. She's had one good workout, that swim in the lake by Nederland, other than that, just mile-long walks to Stephen's school. That's just not quite enough for our big baby, so I decided to look for somewhere she could run, roam, and spazz to her heart's content. Luckily, Colorado takes good care of its dogs! There were so many dog parks to choose from, but I eliminated everything that was basically a fenced patch of dirt, and one with a lake that had rave reviews- but there were two reviews from people whose dogs got sick from it. Not taking that risk! But I discovered a treasure: only 45 minutes away, 107 acres of off-leash trails and fenced play areas. It. Is. Gorgeous. We will absolutely be coming here OFTEN!!!
Of course, all the boys wanted to do was climb on rocks...

My hubby smells trees too :) Isn't the bark on this one eeenteresting??

Lots and lots of aspens for Joe and my Daddy (and me!!)

Mossy little things pictures for my Mom (and me!!) The one to the right is my favorite :)

Okay, that was supposed to be a recreation of Stephen shaking the tree to make leaves fall... but Joe had to be in the picture... not so good with the "natural" poses...

My pretty girl!!

That's a NEWFOUNDLAND!!
I love those dogs!! They're like a huge, slobbery version of my beastie. And about 20 pounds heavier. Woah.

All the boys are happy, we found rocks.

I think we wore her out...

Of course, Joe begged for a picture :)

Swiss Mountain Dogs, and a 100 pound Labradoodle that looked like a Bouvier!! (Dog people will get all these funky breeds. The rest of you, just smile at the doggies :)
At one point there were 2 Dobermans, 4 mutts, 2 Labradoodles (big and little) a Komondor and a Puli, a Great Dane, and Bracken.
Komondor and Puli!!!
The male Doberman had a SERIOUS (and awkward for us humans) crush on Bracken...
Poor Great Dane. He was like the big awkward teenager who doesn't know what to do with himself.
Look! A rock!! :) No, just kidding. It was really cool; Muscovite Mica that flakes into tissue-thin slices
We stopped at this store so I could indulge my Taffy addiction... It was CLOSED!! But the lady saw us and let us in. Thank you, Taffy Lady!
Pomegranate, Pumpkin Pie, Caramel Cheesecake, Pina Colada, Candy Apple, and Cappuchino. Yum!!

It looks like your family had such a good time along with all the four legged friends. What a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteDid the Lhasa have dreads, too??
ReplyDeleteThanks for the macros..
I want to be there! 26, 28 and 30 made my heart skip a beat.
hahah.. "The rest of you, just smile at the doggies." :)
ReplyDeleteFun to read your post and see the great photos of your family and those dogs at the park. Remind me never to get a Puli. We have burdock around here!! Yikes. Thanks for stopping in at Cranberry Morning. :-)
